East End Studio Gallery hosted a Hello Kitty show and I managed to finish a few pieces to enter. I love mixing/mashing characters together and couldn’t shake the idea of a Hello Kitty meets Totoro. Here are a few progress pics:

I also love Mulan and wanted to do a Samurai Kitty:

The next sculpt idea is due to my long love for street fighter. Chun Li Kitty had to be made:

I then quickly sketched out ideas for framed art while waiting for the paint on the sculpts to dry. I went with a samurai like the sculpture, a Hellboy mashup, and and hipster selfie lady with a love for all things Hello Kitty:

It was a lot of work in a short period of time but totally worth being part of an amazing show!
